Physical Therapy aims to return function back to a body, for example, rehabilitating a sprained ankle. Similarly, psychotherapy aims to return function back to a pysche, for example, rehabilitating anxiety.
A more modern derivative of physical therapy is called functional manual physical therapy. This therapy takes a literal hands-on approach to physical therapy and uses movement as medicine.
